FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE – Motorists are advised to expect some delays on areas of westbound U.S. Highway 50 (Lake Tahoe Boulevard) in South Lake Tahoe on Friday for pavement repair work.

Sections of the highway from the "Y" intersection with State Highway 89 to the Trout Creek Bridge are scheduled for grinding and paving from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The work will mostly involve areas of the westbound #2 lane that are in poor condition.

This $132,260 maintenance contract will be performed by Martin Brothers Construction of Sacramento and includes 1,000 pounds of asphalt.

The section being repaired is part of a future project to collect and treat stormwater runoff before it enters Lake Tahoe, but that work is still several years away from construction.
